Introduction to the Different Final Fantasy 14 Disciplines

In Final Fantasy 14, players can go from one Discipline to another. This is done by equipping a weapon or tool. An item can determine what Discipline your character is in at the moment and his skills will be based on it. This is called the Armoury System.

A character can change his Discipline any time in the game to suit the situation. You can go from a melee fighter to a caster to a crafter or to a gatherer by switching weapons or tools. The Armoury System will keep players busy for months with the Disciplines available in the game.

When you switch Disciplines, your Physical Level remains the same. Your Discipline Level dictates what skills you have access to. Some abilities you learned can be used in any Discipline but other skills have restrictions, such as Discipline ff14 gil of War only or Disciplines of War and Magic Only. On that note, if you equip non-main discipline ability, that ability may have a higher casting time, cost, or cool down.

Disciplines Classification
